I don’t understand how GPS doesn’t require a monthly fee. Like in a car or on a cell phone, you use the services of a satellite to track you and you don’t have to pay a fee?

I saw one on a web site at www.autotrackit.com It looks really cool and practical. It says it can unlock your doors, disable your starter, alert you to alarm activation and boundary fencing. You can do all these things with your cell phone and/or on you computer.
I was wondering if it is worth getting? I have locked my keys in the car on occasion and I have teens and others that use my vehicles with and at times without permission. From what I've seen, it looks very promising.

Just to clarify I said to use that info to make an arrest not to prosecute, as they can always get evidence to prosecute after the arrest. And I'm not talking about some misdemeanor either I'm talking about if the city police or FBI were after a drug cartel or serial killer could they secretly "borrow" info if they wanted to intercepted by the NSA like cell phone calls, satellite images, emails, texts, all that stuff the NSA tracks everywhere.

here's the deal. I work for huge company(no names) there are about 12 on the road service technicians with nextel cell phones, they are gps ready. well atleast 4 technicians are showing a position with coordinates, but the others are still at zero's. is it possible only some have been tracked? the time stamps don't make any sense either, odd hours of the day and even weekends,(we don't work weekends. is it possible the phone is calling on the satellites, and were not being pinged by employer? please help with any info thanks.

my friend was telling about something they saw on tv about how you can type someones cell # in and it will bring up a satellite image of where that cell phone is. just wondering if anybody knows how to do this. thx
